The Atlantic Vets Cross the finish line @ 16.36 UTC on the 22nd March 2010

Jim Houlton & Paul Milnthorpe on board "The Reason Why" crossed the finish line with a crossing time of 77 days, 3 hours and 6 minutes.

The pair's team from Bristol were within 20 minutes of their local Bristol rivals Explore as they came over the finish line.

Jim & Paul have been very sociable during their row, being in contact by VHF with Ocean Summit & No Fear. They have also encountered a small pod of killer whales & also dolphins early on in their row.

Jim & Paul adopted a gruelling watch system of 1.5 hours on and 1.5 hours off. Although it took a while to get used to and a few incidents of sleeping on the oars they both got into the swing of things eventually making them successful, even if the weather wasn't at all helpful.

After frustrating conditions and unfavourable weather Paul & Jim have got their crossing and they know now "The Reason Why!"
